Superior Abrasion Resistance
The superior abrasion resistance of True-Guard® ropes, cables and cords associates with the different mode of wear of True-Guard™ tapes which thin with wear in contrast to multifilament fibers which shred.
High strength with reduced diameter and weight
The flat and thin profile of the tapes in the outer layer of True-Guard® ropes, cables and cords protect the core fibers or components from abrasion in a thin braided format that reduces weight and volume.
Barrier Properties
The flat and tightly braided outer layer of True-Guard™ tapes protects the inner core from environmental debris and internal abrasion.
Transparency
The transparency of the outer braided construction enables inspection of the core for safety and the use of color, marking and writing on the core for easy identification, visibility and branding.
Reduced Recoil
True-Guard® ropes, cables and cords exhibit significantly reduced speed and degree of recoil upon breakage under tension. This important safety feature associates with the radial compression of the core by the outer braiding of True-Guard™ tapes that resist the recoiling of the extended core fibers.
Choice of flexible to rod-like structure
True-Guard® ropes, cables and cords can be engineered for flexibility or stiffness. The tightly braided outer layer of True-Guard™ tapes can apply radial compression onto the core for high stiffness and cable or rod-like behavior, a unique feature that can also be used for incorporating torque and kink resistance.
